Are there other encounters available?
Currently the encounters listed on our 'Encounter' tab is what is currently offered. However, the zoo is growing and expanding everyday and we have many new encounters to come in the future. Please keep checking our website or stay up to date on our Facebook page for new encounters as they become available.
What is the relationship with Amazement Farm & Fun Park?
What is the relationship with Amazement farm & Fun Park?
Central Coast Zoo and Amazement are owned by the same parent company. The two names represent different aspects of our company. Admission into Central Coast Zoo also includes admission into Amazement Farm and Fun Park. They are located on the same property. Central Coast Zoo is home to many different exotic animal species while our farmyard and native animals can be found at Amazement.
Can I hold a party at Central Coast Zoo?
Central Coast Zoo is now offering different party packages, including private events on the American Alligator Deck or function hut hire in Amazement. Catering is available through Amazement Farm & Fun Park. Contact us for more information on 02 4393 9900 Bookings for private functions are also available for fully catered events. Do you have annual passes?
We currently do not have annual passes available.
What happens if I need to cancel my encounter?
Check out our Terms and Conditions Page for information about cancelling existing bookings.
What happens if it rains?
Undercover areas will provide temporary relief from the rain. Dress appropriately, i.e. gumboots, raincoats, umbrella. Pre-booked encounters will continue under shelters, if in doubt, please call 02 4393 9900.
Can I walk around Central Coast Zoo before and after my encounter?
You are welcome to walk around Central Coast Zoo and Amazement Farm & Fun Park before and after your encounter. Due to the growing Zoo, not all areas are open to public yet. However our 'Fantastic Forests', 'Terrific Trails' and 'Savannah Sanctuary' is open for your viewing.
Can my family and friends watch my encounter?
Depending on which encounter is booked. Encounters where exhibits are on public display are open for viewing from all. Family and friends are welcome to view from the outside of the enclosure. However, not all exhibits where encounters take place are on display and due to safety regulations only people participating in the encounters may enter the area.
Why can’t my child do an experience by themselves?
With all of our experiences we have age limits as well as requirements for supervising adults for children under 16 years. This is due to the unpredictability of animals and children and is a safety issue.
Can I get a job at Central Coast Zoo?

I want to work in a zoo with animals, how do I start?
Budding zoo keepers will need to obtain a Certificate III in Exhibited Animals at TAFE or other RTO. This is the core foundation for the majority of zoo keepers. Volunteering to gain experience then makes up the rest. Once you have gained enough skills through volunteering you can head out to find your dream job. Information about volunteering at Central Coast Zoo can be found on our volunteer page.
Do you take work placement students or volunteers?
We do have a volunteer program. Please see our volunteer page for details We also take yr10 work experience students. Please see our volunteer page for details. We also take students completing work placement hours through our volunteer program.
I want to help out or volunteer but not directly with animals. Can I still volunteer?
If you are unable to meet the criteria of our volunteer program but would still like to contribute we also have a Docent program. Our docents are educators who wander the zoo and talk to our visitors about our animals and pass on our conservation and educational messages. Can Central Coast Zoo bring animals to my house?
Yes! Central Coast Zoo now offers Central Coast Zoo2U, a mobile animal service which can bring native and exotic species to your next party or event. For more information email [email protected]
Do I have to purchase entrance into Amazement to see Central Coast Zoo?
Your admission into Amazement includes admission into Central Coast Zoo. You can see two great places for the one admission cost.
